In honor of Women's History Month, we are proud to partner with female-founded, female-led tequila brand Casa Dragones for our special dinner on Wednesday, March 27. Casa Dragones is a small-batch tequila brand from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, founded in 2009 by Bertha González Nieves. Bertha is the first female "Maestra Tequilera" certified by the Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters, and Forbes has named her "one of the 50 most powerful women in Mexico." Casa Dragones gets its name from the San Miguel de Allende Dragones: a cavalry led by Ignacio Allende that eventually helped spark the independence movement from the Spanish. The original stables of the Dragones cavalry, built in 1671, is now La Casa Dragones and is where the company holds tequila tastings for the public. The company is classified as 100% Blue Agave Tequila and offers four tequila blends, which we will be tasting for the dinner: Joven, Blanco, Añejo Barrel Blend, and Reposado Mizunara.
